2024 Empire Winter Games Torch Relay to pass through Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The 2024 ESWG Torch Relay is heading towards Rochester after kicking off Sunday at the McCann Ice Arena in Poughkeepsie, and the Buffalo area’s Holiday Valley Ski Resort in Ellicottville.

The five-day, 700-mile journey spreads throughout New York, stretching from places like Highmark Stadium, Waterloo Community Bank, and J.M. Mcdonald Sports complex before finishing at Highmark Blue Shield in Latham.

Cazenovia Community Bank is another one of those locations, where members of the Cazenovia High School track team will take a turn running the torch.

Along the relays path, those who attend may also encounter special parades and ceremonies surrounding the torch.

Registration for the event is open. The games kick off on February 1, at the Lake Placid Olympic Center and Herb Brooks Arena.
