2024 Winter Classic, first responders hockey tournament

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Monroe County’s first responders are preparing to go head-to-head this weekend for the 2024 Winter Classic.

The Monroe County Town Police Hockey team and Monroe County Fire Hockey play a charity game at the Blue Cross Arena for Breast Cancer every year, this year it is February 4 at 6 p.m.

We spoke to the two team captains today who say there are also some opportunities for you.

Police team captain Mark Babcock with Greece Police said, “It’s a fun day lot of good hockey, lot of good sportsmanship on the ice. It’s a good time to get everyone together. Great way to get the community together.”

100 percent of the proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Coalition.
