ATHENA Awards held Thursday in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Women in the Rochester area received international recognition Thursday as part of the ATHENA Awards.

The event honors and awards women leaders and women-owned businesses in communities around the world.

Receiving the 38th annual ATHENA Award in our area — Julie Chapus. She’s the founder and director of Miss Julie’s School of Beauty, which offers free training to stylists, helping them recognize and assist victims of human trafficking.

Agathi Georgiou Graham received the 10th annual ATHENA Young Professional Award. Georgiou co-owns Arbor Venues with her husband. The two recently renovated and opened their third event venue in downtown Rochester.

The YWCA of Rochester and Monroe County received the seventh annual ATHENA Organizational Award.
