ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Canandaigua man was accused of drunk driving and crashing his car last December in Canandaigua, injuring his passenger.

On December 9, 2024, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office said a Chevy SUV driven by 28-year-old Nicholas Ryan Albert was heading west on Country Road 30. A minor in a Nissan SUV tried turning left onto Brace Road before the two vehicles collided.

Albert and his passenger were taken to F.F. Thompson Hospital for serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. Investigators said Albert had a blood alcohol content of .323 — four times over the legal limit. It was alleged he also had THC in his blood.

Albert was arrested on Wednesday and is facing DWI charges. Furthermore, he was charged with first-degree vehicular assault for the passenger’s injuries.

He was taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment. He will appear in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date.
