ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The City of Rochester is looking for new management for the Blue Cross Arena.

According to the City, they have put out a Request for Proposal (RFP) after Rochester Arena, LLC. wrote that they would opt out of a contract. The company entered into an arena licensing agreement in October 2019.

The RFP says it is seeking qualified managers to provide operational, sales, and marketing services for the 14,000-seat venue. Rochester Arena will continue to operate until April 30, 2025.

Responders to the RFP will be given a tour of the arena on April 16 and April 23. The deadline to submit proposals is May 17, 2024.

In addition, the Blue Cross Arena is undergoing a $7 million upgrade as part of the ROC the Riverway initiative.

The City has clarified that this will not affect the Rochester Amerks’ or Knighthawks’ occupancy.
