Funeral arrangements announced for fallen Fairville firefighter

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Fairville Volunteer Fire Department will be celebrating the life of firefighter Daniel DeWolf, who lost his life while responding to a fire.

The fire department said that a celebration of life for DeWolf will be open to the public, emergency services, and dignitaries this Sunday at The New Life Assembly of God in Lyons. Guests are asked to arrive at 1:30 p.m. before the event begins.

The day after, a funeral procession with fire dept. honors will lead to Fairville Cemetery in Newark. The procession will arrive at the cemetery around 11 a.m. on Monday. The last call will happen around that time as well.

DeWolf lost his life last Sunday when he was at the scene of a fire on Fairville Maple Ridge Road in Arcadia. According to EMTs, he was experiencing a cardiac arrest. After paramedics started performing life-saving measures, he was taken to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital where he later died.

Those who wish to make donations to DeWolf’s memory can make them to the Newark Assembly of God on Hartnagle Road in Newwark or the Fairville Fire Department.
