ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Gas prices are going back up again as a new report from AAA suggests this might continue.

According to AAA, the national gas price average has gone up by nine cents to $3.35 and New York’s has gone up by two cents to $3.32. Drivers can expect these numbers to rise as we get closer to Spring Break.

Experts say March and April historically bring higher gas prices due to demand rising, milder temperatures, and more travel.

Diesel prices are fluctuating. The report says that the national average price for diesel has gone down by two cents to $4.05 and the statewide price is down one cent to $4.39.

The following is a list of gas price averages for areas in Central and Western New York:

Batavia – $3.28 (Two-cent increase)

Buffalo – $3.30 (One-cent increase)

Elmira – $3.21 (Ten-cent increase)

Ithaca – $3.26 (Three-cent increase)

Rochester – $3.30 (Four-cent increase)

Rome – $3.34 (One-cent increase)

Syracuse – $3.28 (Four-cent increase)

Watertown – $3.31 (Two-cent increase)
