ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – After a five-decade legacy, Lou Gramm and Foreigner have been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Rock Hall announced nominees this morning, with Foreigner included as one of those nominees. Rochester native Lou Gramm was the singer for the band early on during some of Foreigner’s greatest hits.

Some foreigner hits you may recognize include “Cold as Ice,” ‘Feels Like the First Time,” “Hot Blooded,” “Juke Box Hero,” and their number one U.S. hit “I Wanna Know What Love Is,” which remains one of the Top 25 performed songs from the ASCAP catalog.

The Jones and Gramm songwriting partnership landed Foreigner’s first eight singles charting in the Billboard Top Twenty, making them the first band to achieve this milestone since the Beatles. In recognition of their partnership, the two were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013.

Inductees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are set to be announced this April. You can cast fan votes online at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website.
