Man accused of attempted burglary at Lyell Ave. business

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man was accused of committing a burglary from a business on Lyell Avenue, according to the Rochester Police Department.

Officers said the incident happened early Wednesday morning around 4:15 a.m. They responded to Wu’s Market on Lyell Avenue for the report of a burglary alarm.

Police saw the suspect running from the business. After a chase, the man was arrested. According to investigators, the suspect broke into the building and took items.

The suspect, a 40-year-old man, was charged with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny.

RPD is also investigating a burglary alarm activation at Lake Hots on Lake Avenue, which happened earlier in the morning around 3;15 a.m. Officers said they did find damage with no suspects. It is not clear at this time if these two incidents are connected.
