Man accused of shooting and killing victim after argument on Hudson Ave.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — One person was arrested after investigators say he shot and killed a man on Hudson Avenue.

According to the Rochester Police Department, the incident happened on the evening of March 16, 2024. Around 9 p.m., officers said they arrived at the 1000 block of Hudson Avenue and found 31-year-old Julius T. June dead. He had a gunshot wound in his torso.

Investigators said June got into an argument, which led to him being shot. They add June ran into a business and died.

RPD’s Major Crimes Homicide investigators identified the suspect as 31-year-old Christopher McCrea Jr. They said neither the suspect nor the victim knew each other.

McCrea was found on Monday in a car on North Clinton Avenue. He was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is set to be arraigned in Rochester City Court Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m.
