Monroe County to launch public awareness campaign for Total Solar Eclipse

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Monroe County is launching a public awareness campaign ahead of the Total Solar Eclipse this April.

County Executive Adam Bello will unveil the campaign, titled “Be Aware, Be Prepared, Be There.” The campaign is meant to prepare residents for the eclipse.

ECLIPSE COVERAGE: Tackling traffic and other public safety points

The campaign is urging residents to “Be Aware” by marking April 8 on their calendars as the day of the eclipse, “Be Prepared” by planning ahead with equipment and travel before the eclipse, and “Be There” to travel to any special events of places for the eclipse.

Monroe County leaders are expecting thousands of visitors to the Western New York and Finger Lakes regions, and Bello is urging residents and guests to check out Monroe County’s parks for eclipse viewing.
