Rochester Police releasing new information on Kodak crash

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Rochester Police Department will be holding a press conference Friday evening to release new information about the Kodak Center crash.

The deadly Kodak Crash occurred on New Year’s morning after a Moe concert where two concertgoers were killed as well as the suspect Michael Avery. Now, RPD says they have new information to share with the public at 2 p.m. on Friday.

Police said Avery checked into a hotel in Greece back in December and rented a Ford Expedition, which was used in the crash. The vehicle was filled with gas canisters and gasoline.

On New Year’s Day, Avery crashed his car into a rideshare vehicle, which killed two passengers, Justina Hughes and Joshua Orr. Avery died a day later.
