Schools west of Rochester issue closures amid snow showers

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Amid snow showers and cold temperatures, some schools west of Rochester have issued closures.

As of Thursday morning, the schools that are mainly closing are in the Genesee and Wyoming county areas, mainly in Batavia. You can click here to view an up-to-date list of school and business closures in the Finger Lakes and Western New York regions.

In addition, a commercial vehicle ban was put into effect on the New York State Thruway — west of Rochester. It will remain in effect until further notice.

For the Monroe County area, although it will be a bit warmer as we go into the 20s, we are expecting snow to continue into the weekend. Follow our weather forecast by clicking the link below:
