ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A city program is providing artists with an outlet. The ROC Paint Division installed a new mural inside the Avenue D R-Center today.

The program employs young people to help produce the art — while exposing them to different styles of artwork. This particular mural was designed by Sabrina Dorsainvil, a guest artist from Boston.

The design centers around the theme of caring for yourself and others in the community. Those involved say the project has already proven its power.

The ROC Paint Division is in its ninth year and in that time, they’ve helped more than 60 kids. They say all you need to get involved is an interest in art. They will teach you the painting skills.
