Violent felony offender convicted in Brighton burglary

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man who broke into a Brighton home and robbed a family at knifepoint in 2021 was convicted Friday.

Warren Braswell, 55, broke into a home on December 22, 2021 while a teenager was alone inside, according to prosecutors. When the teen’s parents arrived, Braswell pointed a knife at them and demanded they hand over their money and phones.

Brighton police identified Braswell as the suspect. He was arrested and charged with burglary and two counts of robbery. He was convicted by a jury Friday and will be sentenced as a mandatory persistent violent felony offender.
