ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The bitter cold air persists today with lake-effect snow weakening in Erie County.

Expect flakes Tuesday as a coastal storm slides by to our east. This will bring minor accumulations to much of Western New York along with a fresh round of travel headaches with snowy roads.

Wednesday, winds shift back out of the southwest bringing back the risk of lake effect snow to parts of the region. Exact locations timing and any accumulation can’t be said for sure just yet due to how far out this is, but all the pieces are there. Thursday with plenty of cold air still in place above our heads and a west to southwest flow, we’ll leave a chance on the table for some snow showers. Then Friday we’re keeping our eye on another coastal storm signal that spans into the weekend.

High temperatures won’t break the 20s all week long, and with still largely windy conditions expected all the way through, expect wind chills to be in the teens and single digits all week long too.

Gas prices drop slightly despite an increase in demand

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Despite the demand for gas going up, gas prices continue to fall nationwide. The report says the slight uptick in demand limited gas price drops. How big of a headache will a drive to Orchard Park be Monday? […]
