ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – It is a much warmer start compared to Monday and we kick things off with numbers in the 40s. While skies may be mostly clear, clouds are thickening ahead of a storm system to the west.

The front will weaken as it breaks into New York State as it loses some energy and stalls out with a slower jet stream. Expect only scattered rain showers overnight. The cold air will lag behind this boundary and Wednesday’s numbers should still go from the 40s into the 50s. It’s not until Thursday morning that we fall back into the 30s and 40s, with air much more typical of late March.

High pressure takes over on Thursday and we are dry with sunshine. Friday should be more of the same, although we will be watching a large coastal low that impacts the Atlantic Seaboard through the end of the week. Models diverge on what could happen over the weekend as the GFS hints at cooler air and maybe some mixed precipitation. The Euro keeps everything away and we would stay dry.

In a four-three vote during Monday's environment and public works committee, legislators approved a referral that would allow the full legislature to take up the measure.
