ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The remainder of Saturday remains rain, cloud, and in a sense winter free. We’ll bask in the sun until it sets, and then spend a chilly but clear night back into the low and mid-20s under the stars for those who can see them.

Sunday we rinse and repeat, but this time the sun is with us from start to finish. We’ll crank temperatures back up to near 40 degrees for most, with inland areas likely becoming warmer than those nearer to the lakeshore. All around, a great day to get outside where ever you are though.

Monday into Tuesday will be sunny but a few degrees cooler than Sunday, as currents in the atmosphere above our heads churn and change direction. Not much is lost here as we still remain dry and under the influence of high pressure.

Wednesday and Thursday, clouds make a slow and gentle return over these 48 hours gradually growing in coverage. Thursday will technically be considered as “Mostly Cloudy”, but clouds should be high up, cirrus type clouds that should still let a lot of sun in. We’ll climb through the 40s both days as well with Thursday in the upper 40s.

Friday on, more unsettled weather is trending more likely. With highs still climbing at this point it will be mostly rain. Friday should be the peak of our warmth breaking 50 for most, then a slow decline back through the 40s and pushing past the 8-day a touch likely back to the 30s by mid-February.
