ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – Our official high temperature for Thursday here in Rochester reached 57°. Today’s high temperature will try and challenge that. We started out with some scattered rain showers this morning that quickly passed through the Rochester region. While rain is not completely out of the forecast for the rest of the day, temperatures will soar into the mid to upper 50s, maybe even reaching the 60° mark. Mostly cloudy skies for the rest of today and into the overnight hours.

Rain will move into the area for Saturday morning as temperatures stay in the 40s. The rain will move out of the area a little after midday Saturday. As the rain moves out, our wind direction will change from southwest to directly west and we will then see temperatures fall back into the 30s for the rest of the day. We will remain cold but dry for Super Bowl Sunday here in Rochester with temperatures back near the averages.

We continue to monitor prospects for snow lifting south to north Monday night into early Tuesday. Guidance right now suggests the best prospects for accumulating snow favors areas closer to the NY/PA line. It remains unclear how far north that snow shield is able to progress.
