ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – Several rounds of snow will be possible today. Timing here looks right around mid-day. This could put another coating on surfaces, but impact is low. Wind will set up out of the northwest and we could see scattered snow showers behind this boundary into Wednesday night and Thursday.

Winds may be too strong for any significant lake-effect snow, but another dusting to a few tenths could be possible. If the band persists, there could be an inch on the ground by Thursday morning along 104.

We are still tracking a system Friday into Saturday, but precipitation type is still in question. GFS likes a warmer solution that brings in rain and snow Friday evening. The Euro is colder and keeps us as all snow through Saturday morning, putting several inches on the ground. Let’s lean toward the GFS, keeping a mix around and thus preventing any significant snowfall totals. The system should be out by mid-day Saturday and we are clearing by Sunday.
