ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Rochester welcomed in some rain showers earlier this morning, but for now we remain dry. Colder air is set to return this afternoon and temperatures will quickly fall from the 40s into the 30s. Our wind direction is also expected to shift during the afternoon hours. Snow showers and even a few snow squalls in areas where the sun is out are expected into the afternoon and evening. We’ll see them last overnight too as we dip back into the 20s.

NOTE: Remember it is March, snow during the day will have a tough time accumulating outside of the grass. Once we’re past sunset conditions will get worse on the roads if it is snowing so be mindful!

Snow sticks around for Monday, as we can expect much of the same that we will see today. Temperatures will only reach into the mid to upper 30s for highs on Monday. Snow showers won’t be quite as widespread and will start to taper off in the afternoon hours. More snow showers move in for Tuesday, although they will be more widespread than the days prior.

We’ll see a fresh kick up to snow chances on Wednesday as a fledgling disturbance aloft passes through, some rain MAY mix in but it is likely it will lean towards more snow. We also should get a quick temperature boost back to the 40s! Thursday is cooler with a chance of a snow shower, but more sun and highs back to the 30s. Friday is dry and sunnier with highs still in the 30s.

We’ll watch next weekend closely as it looks unsettled, as to what will fall that will be dependent on how warm it is! Stay tuned…
