ROCHESTER, N.Y — It was hard to ask for better weather this Saturday for the Tops St. Patrick’s Day Parade, we hope you got a chance to meet our News 8 Team and grab a pair of eclipse glasses from the weather team! If you didn’t there will be a few more chances before the big day.

Back to the weather, this evening we remain quiet to start but once we head closer to Sunday we’ll see a batch of rain showers move in through before midnight. Rain continues on and off into Sunday as we’re behind a cold front. Much colder air arrives quickly into the afternoon as winds shift taking us from the 40s to the 30s for the second half of the day. Snow showers and even a few snow squalls in areas where the sun is out are expected into the afternoon and evening. We’ll see them last overnight too as we dip back into the 20s.

NOTE: Remember it is March, snow during the day will have a tough time accumulating outside of the grass. Once we’re past sunset conditions will get worse on the roads if it is snowing so be mindful!

Monday is much of the same, snow showers through the day highs are only into the 30s, and we’ll be on the cloudier side. Snow showers will be widespread throughout the morning tapering off some into the afternoon.

Tuesday, more snow showers though not as widespread. Clouds will remain more prominent throughout the day though which will make highs in the low 30s feel that much colder.

We’ll see a fresh kick up to snow chances on Wednesday as a fledgling disturbance aloft passes through, some rain MAY mix in but it is likely it will lean towards more snow. We also should get a quick temperature boost back to the 40s! Thursday is cooler with a chance snow shower, but more sun and highs back to the 30s. Friday is dry and sunnier with highs still in the 30s.

We’ll watch next weekend closely as it looks unsettled, as to what will fall that will be dependent on how warm it is! Stay tuned…
